On to the upstairs...

So it's been a while! Well it was Christmas after all! And I have been busy finishing up the spare bedroom, just a small matter of fitting the final section of skirting and getting the curtains made up. The step looks great and will make getting in to the garden so much easier - once I finish up the decking outside that is. One thing at a time!

Pictures will of course follow.

With that in mind we have been thinking about the upstairs. The kitchen is not that big and does only require a lick of paint and some joinery here and there. For some time it's been a point of deliberation deciding on how to add some storage that added to the general theme we have been aiming for. It's probably a good deal removed from our original thoughts and having sourced a reclaimed drop leaf table and restoring 4 wooden chairs finding something that would fit in has been less than easy.

Then I discovered these little gems! The corner unit was sitting in my parent's hall a former resident of a now decorated bathroom. It's been there for about 3 years so clearly they can live without it!  I did ask mind. The unit I found at Hemswell. It clearly needs some TLC and has had a pretty rough attempt at being given a shabby chic finish. I am not convinced the mirror doors are original as the side panels block a majority of the storage inside. The interior shelves have also been haphazardly cut so will need some work, especially as yhe doors are going. Still a bargain for £40 and with a bit of restoration it will hang in pride of place in the kitchen.

Next I need a shelf but think I have yhe perfect solution that won't cost a bean aside from some joinery skills on my part!
