Geeky new tattooOriginally uploaded by Guin's View
At least LoudTwitter has been keeping my feed updated (yes lazy I know but a solution that makes me feel good about not neglecting my blog!)
I will probably find it easier to work backwards in relaying my recent activity as I am sure I keep forgetting things (gets diary out to help failing memory!)
Yesterday I finally got around to having a new tattoo. It has been about 7 years since I got my last one and I have been hankering after one for a very long time. I have started on my right arm and have a good idea of what I would like it to build in to. As you can see I have started with the geeky part. I would like it to build into something that reflects a lot of the things I have loved through my life. This is one of the things I remember most about my childhood long nights in the arcades on Cleethorpes Promenade with my Nana (although she didn't play Pac-Man she played the tuppeny slots!). It is also one the best games ever made and set me up for a life-time love of gaming (along with Galaxian, Space Invaders, Pit Stop, Zork and then on PC Kings Quest and Doom to name but a few!)
Naturally I cannot fit all the games I have ever loved on my arm so I went with the one that has always brought me great gaming pleasure! The next part links in with its origins and my love of Japan. So pen and paper at the ready I am drafting the next part which will incorporate 2 (or 3) other images forming a lower sleeve.
I originally said I would only ever get one tattoo! I now have 6! I also said I would never get a sleeve or anything below my elbow! But then again I was probably listening to the guidance of my father who would rather I never got anything (not even a piercing!) Well he will never get to see or know so meh!
I ramble (and digress!)
In other news work continues to be busy (but fun!) as I am currently completing part of the program the students are on. Really good fun, helping me exercise every day and will provide me with several future training and job options. Cannot wait to start tomorrow's element of the training!
I have not taken many photos recently and Jehane and I have about 10 films to send in for processing. I haven't really had much inspiration to go out and shoot but I am accrediting this to the fact of being so busy. A work colleague has started a photography group which I am hoping to help out with. He has started right at the basics as the group has a mixture of novice to keen enthusiasts. I have already agreed to introduce them all to Lomography - could have a mixed reaction lol!
However, we have decided on the camera to use for the wedding photo booth - the Polaroid 2. We got the PoGo printer and the quality is quite good for an instant print feature. Equally it is also digital allowing us to take the pics then print them off later. We hope to get one pre-Xmas to play around with it.
Wedding plans still progressing. My suit is currently being altered and I think I have found my shirt (but that is not a biggie if it doesn't work). Talking to Scribe about photos in general and hopefully things will just keep ticking along (now less than 6 months - SQUEE!) Just need to get some save date cards out and invites to those we know have a long way to travel.
We had a week of gigs too - having not been to anything since we saw Feeder at Barrowlands we saw Muse, Eddie Izzard and Jonathan Coulton in the space of 5 days! All of them where awesome. JoCo was especially brilliant as the venue was a church in London and the acoustics where awesome. The support act Paul and Storm where also incredibly funny and we intend to get a load of their stuff soon (Xmas allowing etc!)
Well that is about all I can remember and I am getting quite, quite hungry so I will venture into the kitchen to make Jehane and myself a lovely fry up for brunch :-)
